Contact Vs. Connect

Do you have a “Contact Us”, “Contact Me”, or any other type of the “Contact” page? This has been a web default for years, but the popularity of all-things-social got me thinking that what we often really want is to connect with other people. Not simply contact them.

This is why I changed my own ‘contact’ page to make it easer for people who read or come across my site to connect with me. I am most active on twitter these days as @communicable, but you can also find me on other networks and platforms.

This isn’t about me, though. I wonder how this contact Vs. connect dilemma applies to bigger organizations. In our efforts to humanize the nonprofit and corporate worlds, I vote for getting rid of the contact us page. How about you?
